Wind, wind go away, come back another day!
This has been our mantra for over a month and a half. Only a few brief reprieves from the wind have happened recently. With that being said, you have to learn how to adapt and overcome. This time of year you can have spectacular fishing in the Everglades National Park, but you definitely need to know the area and realize how the wind for that particular day is going to play a role in the way you approach the areas that you fish. The Snook and Tarpon are definitely chewing. I recently had the pleasure of fishing with Matt and Taylor, a young couple from up north. Great company and pretty darn good fishing for a 3/4 day out in the Everglades! A first for Tarpon is always a winner!! Chokoloskee and Everglades City is definitely the place to be this time of year, that’s for sure! As the Tarpon show up in force and the Snook fatten up for their spawn it could possibly be one of our best seasons yet! Please remember to frequent your local Fly Shop! These brick and mortar businesses are what helped define what Fly Fishing is today!! As always, thanks again for taking the time to check out my webpage and or my fishing report. If you have any questions about the beautiful places that I am blessed to guide at, be at the Everglades National Park, Alaska or Nantucket please feel free to reach out to me. Semper Fi, Capt. Ron
