The fishing in Everglades National Park is definitely heating up. We have been unseasonably warm for about ten days now. The water temps have picked up and so has the fishing! I recently had two Clients from Pennsylvania down for a few days and we had a blast. The Everglades is truly an amazing fishery! From Fly Fishing to Conventional gear everybody can have a blast.
This time of year can be tricky with regards to the weather. Like the last week and a half being unseasonably warm. I believe we were about 12 degrees warmer than normal. This can literally change the whole dynamic of The Park. It can expedite fish behavior and movement. Capitalize while you can because the odds are that Winter will definitely show its face again that’s for sure. The Tarpon, Snook and Redfish bite have been pretty darn good, but with the weather predicted to return to our normal Winter temps the fishing will remain great, but the locations where fish have been might change a little until our weather levels out. I love watching a nice Snook hammer a Fly or artificial lure placed in the right spot! Watching a great cast being rewarded is awesome. I love my vantage point. Being on the poling platform I pretty much get to see it all. The Everglades National Park is a treasure that we MUST do all we can do to preserve and protect. Remember, frequent your local Fly Shop!! These are the places that made Fly Fishing what it is today! Thanks again for taking the time to check out my webpage!
