Fishing in the Everglades National Park has been pretty darn good! It has been a little breezy with these fronts coming down, but that is one nice thing about the Backcountry of the Everglades you can almost always get out of the wind. The plethora of islands that exist in the Everglades coastal area all the way through to the Backcountry can be great way to hone your fly fishing skills on any given day. Throw in some wind and maybe a little rain and one can definitely appreciate The Glade’s natural layout.
The Snook, Tarpon and Redfish can be anywhere this time of year. A Backcountry Slam can happen on any outing in The Park. The migratory birds are making their way back to the Everglades for the Winter and part of the Spring. I truly look forward to seeing all the wildlife throughout The Everglades National Park. Sometimes it is surreal to see so many animals. From Roseate Spoonbills to Saltwater Crocs, The Everglades can deliver a sensory overload around any corner. A few more weeks and Hurricane Season will be in the rear view mirror, thank goodness! In the meantime, the fishing in The Glades will only heat up!
