Had a couple of Young Guys onboard today! They had never caught a Snook before and when I say never caught a Snook before I mean like NEVER. First Snook of the day was definitely a Snook of a lifetime! A Forty incher and 21 inch girth! A Monster by all accounts! The Everglades National Park is a gem that needs our support, that’s for sure! Semper Fly!
Had a great couple from England. First time Tarpon for this Young Man! It’s hard to beat The Everglades Backcountry! Such a cool and diverse place. Definitely a bucket list destination! Fly Fishing Everglades is some of the best saltwater fishing there is! I’m pretty darn blessed to have this place as my office!
I love this time of year! The Snook fishing can be great in the Backcountry on any given tide. The migratory birds are piling in. It’s just a great time to be fishing The Park.
Fishing has been pretty good lately. Looks like it could be an up-and-down winter for us here in the park. Fronts are already starting to move in, dropping the water temp one day, lifting it up the next. Snook fishing will be challenging, but still totally doable. Had a Client out on my last trip and the afternoon bite was definitely a little better 😉
The Snook and Tarpon fishing remains really good, but if we are being honest, it’s a little warm this year🥵 The best bet is an EARLY start. Getting out there first thing can pay dividends on both species. This time of year is rough for me because I’m prepping for Alaska and still fishing The Everglades National Park pretty hard. I love getting out early this time of year knowing that any given morning can be a fishing session of epic proportion! If you have any questions regarding the great state of Alaska or any Lodge recommendations, please feel free to contact me. Semper Fi, Captain Ron
My guys today were a Father and Son team from Kentucky. Talk about airborne Tarpon! I believe we launched Six Tarpon this morning and even one on the Fly. Great 1/2 day trip for a couple of Bass fishing guys from the Bluegrass State! A few more weeks and I head up to Alaska for the season! If you all have ever wanted to fish the great state of Alaska, please feel free to reach out and I will do my best to steer you in the right direction. Semper Fi, Captain Ron
This is definitely a great time of year to get your fill of the mighty Megalops Atlanticus aka: Tarpon. The whole Southern part of the State from the Keys up past me here in Chokoloskee can be a Tarpon playground right now! It is super fun to get out there and see tons of rolling happy fish or pole down a shoreline and sight cast to laid up bruisers. Take your pick or heck just do both! I still have a few days of availability left for the rest of the season. Shoot me a text or a call and I’ll try my best to get you out on the pointy end of my skiff fishing for these awesome fish. Semper Fi, Captain Ron
Snook fishing in The Everglades National Park can be phenomenal this time of year! Sometimes it’s hard to Tarpon fish when I know that the Snook fishing is going to be exceptional. I guess I could have bigger problems 😂 Early morning with the right tides can be the makings for an awesome day and memories of a lifetime. Get out there and enjoy. Remember to PLEASE take care of The Everglades National Park when you are here. Be cognizant of other boaters and wildlife when motoring within The Park. Let’s preserve this magical place for generations to come. Semper Fi, Capt. Ron
